I have never labeled you except for the "crunchy parent" and only because I saw it in a brief personal self-description on your FaceBook page right after we first met. And I find it fascinating, personally. I love that you can accept who you are (passionately) and view yourself as a woman of value. Each of us, as daughters of God, are loved by Him, who accepts us as we are, so long as we repent of sin and love others.Marthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02459010267938021127noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-938234907079894484.post-5774655333857219542010-05-26T19:15:35.265-07:002010-05-26T19:15:35.265-07:00i used to hate the label thing. my sister got a jo...i used to hate the label thing. my sister got a job at "carol tuttle's dressing your truth" in draper, utah a couple years ago and it is about personality typing with types 1 2 3 and 4. like get in touch with your true nature stuff. my mom and sisters got totally into it and i thought it was so dumb! i felt like i didn't need someone stereotyping me, i knew exactly who i was and was extremely confident in everything i do. well... my mom sent me to a class about it when i was out there last summer and now i am totally hooked!! i guess the part i like the most is the colors- like getting your color tested- for the colors and type of clothes you look best in that bring out your personality. anyways i wrote about it a little on my blog last june called "trip to utah" if your interested. i love it!Sara, Nick, and kidshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09066332875489251658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-938234907079894484.post-82086788859457778512010-05-26T14:38:10.028-07:002010-05-26T14:38:10.028-07:00I just want to know when we get to see a belly pic...I just want to know when we get to see a belly picture :DJennihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01279308378287322473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-938234907079894484.post-71873785946283357712010-05-26T11:29:33.771-07:002010-05-26T11:29:33.771-07:00Well I am not a hippy mom at all, please give me t...Well I am not a hippy mom at all, please give me the epidural! haha... but I'm happy that we all have the choice and if people aren't willing to accept it then they aren't worth being friends. Anyway, I hope Scotty gets to do the job thing and you guys come visit in Texas. We will have to get together! This past week ...I think accepting labels can help. This past week at church, we had combined RS/Priesthood (they did the 5th Sunday a week early b/c of Memorial Day). Our new ward has new converts, investigators, and move-ins introduce themselves. We were supposed talk about our interests and hobbies. I knew better than to introduce myself with "Hi, we're planning an unassisted birth and I haven't used shampoo regularly in over a year!" but I did feel like I needed to mention at least one crunchy passion and said, "After Margaret was born, I got involved with lactivism, which is breastfeeding activism. If you google my name, you'll find information about the FB nurse-in from a year and a half ago and that I organized it." I wondered if admitting and labeling myself as a "lactivist" publicly in front of my ward would cause people to avoid me- and I guess we'll see how it plays out in the future- but it was very liberating for me as a person to openly acknowledge the label IRL instead of just on my blog.TopHathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03014761105792283513noreply@blogger.com
