When I get my dream house...

Who on earth thought it would be a good idea to have carpet in a dining room. Who? Fess up, so I can spit in your eye!!! Or maybe I will just make you clean the crusty, dried up, kidney beans out of my dining room carpet. And the carrots. And the peas. And the Cheerios. And the Rice Krispies. And the cracker. And the banana. And the chewed up paper. And whatever-the-heck-THAT-is.

I think you would rather me just spit in your eye.

I keep reminding myself that it may not be so bad if I actually buy a high chair. Or a large tarp. A really, large tarp.

My grandmother had an old plastic shower curtain which she would put out under the baby's chair...it would be a little harder as the mother (ie, having it all the time instead of just one week every now and then) but it did the trick.

I agree, carpet under the dining table is problematic. My parents house was worse though--it also had carpet in the bathroom and kitchen!!! (This is WA, so the bathroom carpet would get wet, even with bathmats, and it never fully dried out and started to mildew...and the kitchen carpet, well, take your dining room x3, ya know?!) Thank heaven they owned the house and could rip it out and put in tile!!!

I know. It's not fun dealing with apartment complex stupidity!

Clearly a woman did not design carpet in a bathroom, dinning room and esp. kitchen. I have a list of "dream house must haves" among them is a double sink (how on earth are you supposed to wash dishes with one basin?) to help fix that problem there WILL be a dishwasher... I think I am pretty easy going! The list does go on an on... but I will save that for when we are house hunting... whenever that will be!

Good luck keeping that carpet clean!

We had carpet in our bathroom and astonishingly it was put there by a woman. A woman with no children. It was sick, we ripped it out right away and we don't even own the house. It was not going to stay though. :) Good luck, I say by a tarp. :)
